Discover the fascinating alpine flora along the botanical nature trail around the Jöchelspitze – in the heart of the Allgäu Alps.
The area surrounding the 2,226-metre-high Jöchelspitze is characterised by its remarkable geological diversity. Although located in the heart of the Lechtal Alps, the landscape is shaped not only by limestone but also by layers of clay, marl and slate, creating an exceptionally rich alpine flora.
The harmonious interaction of climate, soil conditions and the sunny location of the alpine meadows provides ideal conditions for an impressive variety of plant life. Warm and humid air masses further enhance the diversity of alpine vegetation.
Particularly noteworthy are the many rare and protected flower species: exotic Turk’s cap lilies, delicate pasque flowers, hardy houseleeks, sulphur-yellow anemones, the striking allium victorialis, elegant clustered bellflowers and colourful alpine pinks all contribute to the unique beauty of the mountain landscape around the Jöchelspitze.
Herbal Hike on the Botanical Nature Trail
This guided herbal hike takes you along the botanical nature trail to the Hay Museum. The area is renowned for its impressive diversity of alpine plants and herbs, which are introduced by experienced herbal educators.
At the Hay Museum, you will have the opportunity to create your own herbal tinctures, which you can take home for a small materials fee.
For guests with a valid Lechtal Aktiv Card, the guided tour as well as the cable car ride are free of charge.
