The bike route starts directly at the Stadtgarten in Altensteig and first goes up a part of Schlossberg hill. Here and there you already have a great view of the historic old town backdrop of the international rafting town. At the top, vast fields shape the landscape while the view shows the typical Black Forest with its deep woods. In the Bömbachtal, we find an idyllic gem - the Bömbachsee. It lies hidden behind the small district of Spielberg and invites you to a short rest before we continue towards Egenhausen. The next diverse natural area already awaits us. The Egenhäuser Kapf is characterized by countless bushes and meadows of blackthorn. From here too, you have great views of Egenhausen and beyond. Now it slowly goes back into the Nagold valley. The historic Monhardter Wasserstube is the cultural highlight of the bike round before we cycle back through the historic old town to the starting point.
The bike round runs on the signposted cycle paths of the Calw district. Along the way, we follow the green-white bike signs.

You can reach Altensteig from both Nagold and the Enz valley via the L362.
From Freudenstadt and Pfalzgrafenweiler, the best route is via the L404.
The Altensteig Marktplatz/Rathaus stop is only a few minutes from the starting point.
The Line X77 runs hourly from Herrenberg via Nagold to Altensteig. In Nagold, changing to the Kulturbahn is easy. In Herrenberg, you can change to the S-Bahn to Stuttgart.
Attention! Taking bicycles on the buses is not always guaranteed!
Parking spaces are available at the Stadtgarten as well as in the center of Altensteig.
