The challenging via ferrata, which is only suitable for experienced and well-trained climbers, begins at the northern foot of the so-called finger. Even the start is steep and requires not only strength and stamina, but also advanced climbing technique and a head for heights. The route leads through exposed terrain with tricky passages that require full concentration. The crossings and steep ascents in particular require precise surefootedness and arm strength. Halfway up, there is a short but not to be underestimated walking passage before the climb increases in difficulty again and leads up to the Täfelekopf. Here the path leads to the exit of the Fingersteig. This via ferrata requires not only physical fitness but also mental strength - a real adventure for experienced climbers who are prepared to push themselves to their limits.
From the Tegelbergbahn station, follow the signs for Fingersteig. A few downhill hairpin bends on a path will take you to the start. Harness up and you're off on a vertical ascent (C). After a good 20 meters, the climb turns to the right, followed by the first slightly overhanging passage (C/D). Once you have overcome this, turn slightly right again, past a grassy ledge on the right and up to the western base of the finger. If you look closely, you can spot a few old pitons from the 1940s on the west face.
In a short walking passage along the foot of the wall up onto the small ridge and through a rocky mountain pine slope to the start of the Täfelewand. Once again, a crisp start (D) awaits you, which then turns slightly left into B/C. Beautifully hidden, but still easy to find, you reach the wall book, where you can immortalize yourself. Past the emergency exit, continue climbing very steeply (D) upwards and then climb over a ledge on the right, where the sun shines on your face in good weather. Climb the last few meters up the sunny traverse to the exit at the Täfelekopf.
