On this route, you get to know Pfronten better. In the past, there were no regulating guilds, so art and craft could develop freely. Especially in the field of precision mechanics, Pfronten pioneers made great advances. The locals call these tinkerers and inventors initially producing drafting supplies in small 'shacks' "Mächlar". From this tradition, internationally operating companies emerged. On this route, the view repeatedly falls on such a large industrial site and thus on a piece of Pfronten's history and present.
The small valley route starts at the tourist information office. From Heitlern, you follow the Vils up to the Bläsis Mill. From there, a beautiful footpath leads to Pfronten village. From there, walk along Kienbergstraße to the Steinacher Ach river. You follow this up to the alpine garden, where you cross a bridge to the opposite side and then walk to the main street. There you change sides one last time and return along the Vils to the starting point.
From the train station in Pfronten-Ried the route initially follows the Vils southward. The open valley meadows offer wide views over the Pfronten villages in front of the mighty mountains. The renatured river in its broad bed also offers exciting details again and again. For little hikers, after the turnoff to the panorama path, a surprise awaits: the fairy tale playground! Otherwise, there is plenty of variety. Along the Steinacher Ach, the route leads past the alpine garden and the Steinach ski center with lifts and slopes. You walk via Kienbergstraße to the village pond – a village scene straight out of a picture book! Accompanied by wonderful views of the mountains, it then continues to the picturesque Bläsis Mill and through the spa park back to the train station. The route is cleared within the settlements and rolled outside. Along the route, there are numerous opportunities to stop for refreshment.
