alpannonia - regional route Stadtschlaining - Goberling

<p>We use the terrace in front of the castle entrance with its alpannonia information boards to start the route and then go down into the castle moat. We keep always to the left, pass through a small archway in a part of the castle wall, and follow a small, short path down to the foot of the hill. At the road, we keep right until the junction to Schönau. Here we turn left and go up, but at the first bend we continue straight on the forest road. The path steadily climbs, and it is worth looking back occasionally to view Stadtschlaining with its two churches and the dominant castle from up here. At a municipal yard area, the path splits. To the right, a path leads to Hirschenstein. But we go through the Kurtwald forest to the left towards Goberling. After some time, we reach the antimony mining area, which we cross, and again follow a forest road through the woods. Finally, we reach a bridge at the entrance to Goberling and follow the main road into the center of the village. Right next to the mining museum, we meet the alpannonia main route.</p>
