Biedenkopf with its castle towering over the city is the starting point of this sporty stage of the Lahn cycle path. Upstream on the Lahn awaits Bad Laasphe. Located on the south side of the Rothaar Mountains, Bad Laasphe fascinates with its picturesque old town and lovely half-timbered facades. Feudingen is offered as an alternative endpoint for the Lahn cycle path. Here you will find not only the nearest source station but also numerous cozy overnight accommodations. But do you really want to miss the Lahn source? From Feudingen, it goes through the forest landscape along the still very young Lahn up to the Lahnhof! If you've made it this far, you've well earned a Radler to finish!
From Biedenkopf, follow the signs for the Lahn cycle path and cycle along the Lahn. Just before Wallau, you change sides of the Lahn. Then you ride through Wallau and cross the tracks and the federal road at Amalienhütte. The cozy half-timbered town of Bad Laasphe has been a Kneipp spa since 1960 and offers a number of overnight and dining options. Wittgenstein Castle overlooks the town. From Wahlbachsmühle, you now cycle to Feudingen. Here you briefly change sides of the Lahn again and pass through Feudingen. Behind Feudingen, the Lahn is crossed once more and via Volkholz you go up to the Jagdhof Glashütte. On a first asphalted and later unpaved path, you reach the idyllic Lahn source. Here the Lahn springs from a pond at the Lahnhof inn.
A tip: If after the route you want to cycle from the Lahn source to Bad Laasphe (Upper Lahntal Railway), Netphen or Hainchen without cycling the last kilometers of the Lahn cycle path twice, you can join the QuellenAcht bike tour at the Lahn source.
