On this section of the Lahnwanderweg, the hiker enjoys pure tranquility. With views of the Feldberg, the former mining village Falkenbach, and the Ernst-Dienstbach footbridge, originally built as a wooden water conduit bridge in 1706, there are still real highlights. The most beautiful view is from the Feldberg viewpoint. The Großer Feldberg can be seen clearly in good weather.
This section of the route offers pure tranquility and nature. It is worth listening to the sounds of the forest and sniffing the scents of the meadows.
From the Lahn bridge at Aumenau, the route initially follows a stretch along the Lahn. Then it climbs steeply to the edge of the forest. A long, quiet segment through the woods finally leads to the small hamlet of Falkenbach.
You leave this on the right and walk through orchards and meadows until another forest section follows. Before Gräveneck, you cross the small idyllic Wirbelauer stream and the L3452 road. In the forest near Gräveneck, a short detour to the Wittekindstollen is worthwhile. Mining history is ever-present here. From there, it gently climbs up to a small pond. Benches invite you to take a rest.
After crossing the K490 (caution), you reach the Feldberg viewpoint. Through the forest and past the Eschenbörnchen, the route now heads towards Weilburg. The shelter "Am Steinbühl" offers another resting opportunity. Now you are almost in Weilburg.
A small pavilion offers a beautiful view of the town. Here you definitely should stop for photos! After a short descent, you are again at the Lahn. The path leads along wooden planks directly next to the rocks – breathtaking! Over the Ernst-Dienstbach footbridge, you finally reach Weilburg. Just the stairs up remain and you reach the stage destination "Am Denkmal" in Weilburg.
Normal hiking equipment required. Bring packed lunch and drinks.
