Kanzelhöhe circular route

Starting from the top station of the Kanzelbahn, you either follow the paved road or the parallel ski trail to Kanzelhöhe where you join the Kanzelhöhe promenade (path no. 176). To the right, after a few minutes' walk, you reach the old top station of the Kanzelbahn. The paved road turns into a gently designed forest path, along which information about the regional flora and fauna is provided.  A few minutes' walk after the last display panel, you reach the Waldtratte , the highest point of the route.  Here you cross the slope and reach a large car park.  From here you continue downwards along the paved road through a short tunnel (caution!) to a left-hand bend. Here you turn sharply left towards the storage pond (path no. 31) and return to the starting point at the top station of the Kanzelbahn.

CAUTION! In the section from the Prinz hut to the Waldtratte car park, the slope must be crossed. Please pay special attention to your children and yourself here due to ski operations.  For slope safety, some locations of the hiking trail signage must also be removed during the winter season. 

Annenheim is best reached via the A10 exit "Villach-Ossiacher See". From there, you take the Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn up to the summit.

Annenheim is accessible at regular intervals by public transport.
