Trail no. 22: Passo del Turchino - Colla di Praglia

One crosses the harsh plateau environment of Monte Foscallo and Monte Penello, almost barren meadows with scattered rocks protruding here and there. The crossing isn’t particularly difficult and on clear days one can enjoy the wonders of its open horizons. However, one must keep in mind that the weather conditions are often unstable here. These mountains on the border between the Mediterranean and the Po valley are windswept in all directions, often creating strong winds, sudden mistiness and heavy rainfall. Despite the relatively low altitude, we are in the presence of real mountains here, therefore requiring good preparation and suitable equipment especially in winter.
