Groß Reipersdorf – wide view over the Weinviertel – old quarry – biotope (recommendation: use the Kneipp facility on the return route)

Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, the small town of Pulkau with around 1,500 inhabitants lies at the transition between the forest and Weinviertel in a landscape reminiscent of Tuscany and bears witness to its historical past.

Tip: picnic in the vineyard

On all wine hiking trails, you can enjoy a picnic at a panoramic rest spot. The basket is filled with regional specialties, a bottle of peppery-spicy Grüner Veltliner (or alternatively a bottle of grape juice) and a bottle of water. Look and listen to nature, let the vastness and tranquility sink in, forget everyday life and simply enjoy the moment (bookable from two people and +43 (0) 664 3520006 or office@weingut-kellner.at)

Pass the pillory on the right, cross the bridge to 'Bahnstraße'. Turn right to 'Am Berg' and follow the street. Cross the federal road and through Groß-Reipersdorf to the town exit. Here, follow the long, straight path on the left. At the end, turn right, slightly uphill, over the old railway tracks, continue to the junction on the right. Follow the path through vineyards and acacia woods. A wide view over the Weinviertel, on clear days even to the Schneeberg, rewards the effort. After some time, you reach old, half-ruined buildings; here turn right beside the barrier. The old quarry and its biotope invite you to take a rest. The path leads left to the road. Here turn right and after the barrier immediately turn left again. Pass the old station straight ahead. On the asphalt path, keep right until Groß Reipersdorf. From here, take the already known route back to Pulkau. If your feet are hot, you can cool them in the Groß-Reipersdorf Kneipp facility.
