Nature in the city - Meisino Natural Reserve and Isolone Bertolla

Just steps from the city center, easily reachable by bike or public transport, you arrive at a natural oasis where migratory birds stop to rest and resident birds find the ideal place to nest. With a bit of luck, you can observe among others: cormorants; great crested grebes, kingfishers, or grey herons. The route starts from the Fausto Coppi Monument on Corso Casale next to the pedestrian bridge, which offers a magnificent view of the Basilica of Superga. Traveling along the right bank of the Po River, on the left you will see the Doria Riparia flowing into the Po, creating a play of colors in the water, and you reach the former military racecourse. Continuing on, you encounter another Po River tributary, the Stura di Lanzo. Shortly after, you arrive at the Meisino beach, the endpoint of this route, with a view of the Isolone Bertolla, a nesting area for grey herons.
