The Truc Monsagnasco is among the oldest and best-preserved forms in the Rivoli-Avigliana Morainic Amphitheater. Its imposing mass bears witness to the considerable size of the Susa Valley glacier at its outflow into the plain. Due to its position and conservation state, the Truc di Monsagnasco is attributed to the Middle Pleistocene (over 125 thousand years ago). The summit of the Truc di Monsagnasco is dotted with erratic boulders. On the surface of some of them, fine rock engravings can be found. For all these reasons, the Truc di Monsagnasco has been included among the geosites of the Province of Turin, i.e., among sites of major geological and geomorphological interest, worthy of conservation and enhancement.

From Rivoli, Piazza Cavallero, walk a few tens of meters towards Rivalta Torinese and take a paved cycle-pedestrian path on the right. After about 1.7 km turn right onto Via Monsagnasco (gravel). After about 200 m keep right for 50/60 m and then turn left onto a climbing path that leads up to Truc Monsagnasco. Near the summit, explore the surrounding woods in search of rock engravings and Celtic cup marks on the erratic boulders. Then continue towards the Roncaglaia hamlet of Villarbasse. After passing through the settlement, turn left onto a dirt road, with a long straight section, first downhill and then uphill. At the fork, turn left to re-enter the woods. Follow the canal (Garosso di Rivalta) and then head towards Cascina Gottero (in a state of semi-abandonment). Then return to Rivoli, following the same cycle-pedestrian path from the start of the route.
