The origin of pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela lies in the 7th century and is connected with the tradition that James the Greater preached in Spain. With the revival of the Jakobs pilgrimage route in the Winnweiler collective municipality, a connection to the European network is established.
As part of the monastery route from Worms to Metz, the Jakobsweg runs through the Winnweiler collective municipality for about 14 km from Steinbach am Donnersberg to Wartenberg-Rohrbach. It leads from Steinbach past Hahnweilerhof and Imsbach through the Winnweiler district of Alsenbrück through Lohnsfeld to Rohrbach. It is marked with the shell motif and additionally, as is customary in Spain, with a yellow arrow.
