We leave the town (past the old post tower, heading towards Sommerbergstraße) Lambrecht (Pfalz) in the direction of Lindenberg (Pfalz). The path leads into the Dörrental, then above Lindenberg past the Joppenholz spring to the Ritterstein "Alte Straße, Customs station and fortification 1794" and further on to the Forsthaus Silbertal. After a rest, we continue to follow the Hüttensteig marking. Following this marking, we reach the Waldhaus Lambertskreuz after about 5 km. Again there is the opportunity to enjoy Palatinate food. After the rest it goes on to the Siebenwege-Spinne and the Friedrichsbrunnen, then to the next Ritterstein "Pottasch Hütte" and further on until after about 8 km the Lichtensteinhütte of the Pfälzerwaldverein Neidenfels appears.

The long-distance hiking trail always follows the marking of the Pfälzer Hüttensteig (black hut on white background).
Arriving at the train station in Lambrecht, we keep right and walk past the old post tower and over the Hermann-Schneid-Bridge. After the bridge, we continue to follow the Sommerbergstraße - which soon turns into a path that leads us to Lindenberg. On this path there is a small rest area that recalls the cloth makers' guild.
Along the Dörrental, it goes via a path through the "quarry" to the Lindenberger Heimatpfad - which we follow. On the Heimatpfad lies the Joppenholz spring. Those who find the rest too early here can plan it at the "Alte Schanze" car park. There is also the Ritterstein No. 258 - Alte Straße – Customs station and fortification 1794.
Just 400 m further is the Forsthaus Silbertal (after approx. 4.9 km), which is also run as a business. From Silbertal, it goes on over the Stoppelkopf to Lambertskreuz. On this way you can see the Hermanns Hütte (an old hunting lodge, which is privately owned). Then it continues over the Schuck, past the Lellepebbelpädle and over the Wilhelmsweg to the Waldhaus Lambertskreuz, which we reach after approx. 7.3 km. Here we can first have a rest. From Waldhaus Lambertskreuz it continues to the Pottasch Hut (shelter), on this way we pass the Nadenbrunnen (1937). At the "Sieben Wege Spinne" we take the path opposite towards the natural monument Friedrichsbrunnen, where there is also a shelter with tables and benches. Since Friedrichsbrunnen is only 100 m away from this shelter, we make a small detour there (this is also a nice place for a rest). At the Pottasch Hut (shelter) is the "Ritterstein No. 261 - At the Pottasch Hut". From the Pottasch Hut the path now goes to Neidenfels to the Lichtensteinhütte (overnight accommodation).
For our hikes we recommend the following standard equipment:
Sturdy footwear Weather-appropriate clothing Sun and rain protection A sufficient supply of food and drinks, as rest or shopping facilities are not available or open everywhere. Even though the paths are very well marked throughout, it is advisable to always carry a suitable hiking map for safety reasons, so that for example in the event of a thunderstorm or an emergency you can quickly find a safe area.
Hiking on natural paths and trails - Especially in autumn it should be noted that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. After storms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches can drop afterwards. Particularly with adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is required in places. You have to expect such path impairments when undertaking a hike. If you think certain sections are impassable for you, you should avoid them. Despite the "non-deviating" marking of the premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying an appropriate hiking map for safety reasons, so that for example in a thunderstorm or emergency you can quickly find a safe area. Path closures and detours must be absolutely observed.
Danger situations - In an emergency, quick help is required. And even if mobile phones can send GPS signals, classical rescue points are often the fastest. These are located at places that are easily accessible for rescue vehicles. Remember the points with the green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when you call for help. This way rescuers will know where to find you.
