This beautiful walking trail in Filzmoos invites the whole family to enjoy a relaxing experience surrounded by nature. The short, stroller-friendly route runs mostly along easy-to-walk gravel paths and...
The trail leads past a lovingly designed wayside shrine (“Materl”) to a small footbridge. It then continues into the idyllic “Bögrain-Ifang” area, where the path climbs gently until you reach a beautiful clearing. From there, the route continues on level ground, crossing the Bögrainlift area, until you reach Hofangerstraße. From there, you can turn right and walk back downhill along the road to the village centre of Filzmoos.
This trail is also particularly enjoyable as a pleasant evening walk, when the surrounding nature is bathed in warm light and the views become even more impressive. A special highlight along the way are the lovingly painted wooden hearts created by the children of the Filzmoos primary school. Every two to three years, the pupils paint new hearts and place them along the trail. Each heart has a sponsor who supports this wonderful project. Anyone interested in sponsoring a wooden heart is welcome to contact the Filzmoos Tourist Office.
The proceeds from this heartfelt initiative are donated to UNICEF, helping to support children around the world. A walk along this trail combines the beauty of nature, quality family time and social commitment in a truly special way.
02 B: For experienced hikers, the Hofbichl variant offers a longer route with a more challenging ascent. Following the previously described path, the trail continues along Hofangerstraße past the traditional “Oberhof” farmstead to Hotel Unterhof. After a short section along the Filzmoos country road, you cross the street and hike uphill to the right towards Hofbichl. The route then passes the Großberg chairlift slope, continues through a small forest, and reaches the road towards Kleinberg. From there, the trail gently leads back down to Filzmoos. This tour combines diverse natural scenery, stunning panoramic views, and authentic regional farmhouses, creating a memorable hiking experience.

In case of thunderstorms: Avoid summits, ridgelines, and fixed-rope sections at all costs.
A good backpack is helpful, and for routes in alpine terrain, a hat, gloves, a good jacket, and pants are essential basic equipment. Sturdy, waterproof footwear, sunglasses, sun protection, and plenty of fluids are also crucial. A flashlight, map material, knife, and a small first aid kit should always be part of your gear.
Available GPS data – like hiking maps – are only intended as orientation aids, as they can never fully represent the exact layout or detail of a trail in reality. Especially in potentially dangerous areas, it is essential to make decisions based on the actual conditions on site regarding whether and how to proceed.
