Fusch: 725 | Gleiwitzerhütte from center Fusch

This hike starts directly in the center of Fusch, at the municipal depot where there is a free parking lot for all visitors of the Gleiwitzerhütte. You walk uphill through the forest towards the Hirzbach waterfall. Just before the waterfall, there is a fork where you keep left and then take a right at the next fork. After overcoming the rocky gorge, you cross the creek on the Sackziehbrücke and reach the Hirzbachalm. Through flower-rich slopes, you reach the Gleiwitzerhütte in many switchbacks (serviced and with overnight accommodations).

On the way back, a detour at Imbachhorn offers a wonderful view. From here, either take the same path back or go via the Bäckenanderlalm and Ponyhofalm to Fusch.

Of course, you can also make the descent westward towards Kaprun.
