Exciting hike to the Karbachalm

From the Dientner Sattel, you follow forest trail No. 75 behind the Dientalm. You can always walk along the path, which is also known as the Ant Trail. At the fork, turn right. Once you are out of the forest, you only need to cross the "slope" under the gondola lift once more, and you will be at the Karbachalm.

Self-assessment: Before every mountain tour, check your physical fitness and assess your strength as well as that of your companions – especially your children! Surefootedness and a head for heights are often very important!

Planning and preparation: Plan every intended mountain tour carefully beforehand. Hiking maps and guides as well as information from alpine clubs and locals such as mountain guides and hut hosts can be helpful.

Equipment: In the mountains, you need appropriate equipment and clothing, particularly sturdy, high footwear with a grippy sole. Weather and cold protection are indispensable, as weather can often change suddenly.

Togetherness: Observe the 10 rules for the correct behavior with grazing animals and do not leave any litter in nature!

Do not dislodge stones: Do not dislodge stones because it can seriously endanger other hikers. Marked areas with risk of rockfall should be crossed as quickly as possible and with attention and caution.

Turn back in time: This is no disgrace but a sign of prudence. It becomes necessary if the weather changes, fog sets in, or if the path is too difficult or in poor condition.

Take the A10 motorway to the Bischofshofen exit, then follow the Hochkönig federal road/B164 to Mühlbach.

Arrival coming from Saalfelden:
Take the Loferer Straße/B178 towards St. Johann i.T., then via the Hochkönig federal road/B164 through Saalfelden to Mühlbach.
