St. Leonhard has about 1,400 inhabitants and a municipal area of ​​223.4 km². St.Leonhard is located in the upper Pitztal, where the hamlets and villages are spread over a length of about 25 km.

St.Leonhard is a paradise for hikers and climbers in summer.
Numerous tours (e.g. to the Wildspitze - at 3,774 m Tyrol's highest mountain) around the Pitztal Glacier World offer mountain enthusiasts breathtaking views! A highlight in St.Leonhard is certainly the highest café in Austria - the newly built Café 3440 on the Pitztal Glacier.
