For one week, international visual artists from over 20 countries worked in various fine art techniques and left their works onsite in and around the village of Kleinbreitenbach. Starting from the Romanesque fortified church and the adjacent cemetery, a 3 km circular route leads through the surrounding fields and along the forest edge, flanked by about 50 large art objects. The charming landscape, rich in orchids, offers wonderful panoramic views of the opposite Reinsberge. The path is constantly changing, not only through the seasons but also due to the ever-changing art objects. Hikers follow the logo painted on old roof tiles, depicting a person reaching upward with open arms toward the big world.
The path starts in the village. It leads to the church square and cemetery, then the road leads out of the village. Now begins a gravel, crushed stone, and field path that gently ascends along the forest edge and then descends again. The route is not difficult; special footwear is not required.

Always stay on the marked hiking trails and be aware of the typical forest dangers.
Along the Art Walking Route, you can search for a geocache. Countless orchids bloom around the Art Walking Route in late May/early June. Kleinbreitenbach has a noteworthy Romanesque fortified church (viewable only from the outside) with remarkable swallowtail battlements on the tower.
If you come on the weekend, you can stop by Café Landart (cafe-landart.de). There are also four beautiful holiday apartments available there.
