Hermitage of the Romiti from Domegge di Cadore
Úroveň náročnosti: S1
The itinerary starts from the center of Domegge di Cadore and, after crossing Lake Centro Cadore, enters an increasingly peaceful and wooded natural environment. The ascent takes place along a forest road...
The route leads to Eremo dei Romiti, a place of great historical and spiritual value: it is the only convent that ever existed in Cadore, once inhabited by Franciscan friars. Its secluded location and quiet surroundings help create a cosy and evocative atmosphere, ideal for a regenerating break.
From the hermitage there is also a splendid view of the Marmarole chain and the entire Cadore Center, accompanying the return to the valley. The trail follows the same route as the outward journey and is suitable for hikers with a good walking habit, perfect for those seeking nature, silence and spirituality.
Once back in Domegge, a visit to the Church of San Giorgio, an interesting historical testimony of the area, is recommended.
From the center of Domegge di Cadore you cross the Centro Cadore Lake. You then take the forest road uphill until you reach the Romiti Hermitage. The return is along the same route to Domegge.
