Fanes & Travenanzes valley hike + via ferrata

Beautiful walk with a short via ferrata in the Fanes and Travenanzes valleys: You are surrounded by forests, waterfalls and rushing rivers that have cut deep ravines in the Fanes valley, with frequent views of the surrounding peaks. In the narrower Travenanzes valley you exit the trees and have a constantly changing view of the peaks at the end of the valley.

The Giovanni Barbara via ferrata is short, easy, but spectacular nonetheless as it takes you behind the Fanes waterfall.

If you want to skip the via ferrata, follow our return route out of the valley along the SI 166 both coming and going. At the intersection where it meets the path coming up from the waterfall, you can safely go down to view the waterfall without equipment, though the path is technically part of the via ferrata.
