The high path from Giw to Gspon leads past Lake Gebidum and Gebidum Pass. Along the way, the Sädolwald nature forest reserve is crossed, and there is a beautiful view over the Visp valley and nearby as well as distant mountain peaks. Visperterminen is known for its unique Heida wine; Gspon is a car-free holiday resort.
From Visperterminen, you can easily reach Giw by chairlift. From the mountain station, you first hike a section along the Heido water channel up to Gebidum Pass. During the ascent, you have an impressive view of the distinctive Bietschhorn. After about an hour, you reach the picturesque Lake Gebidum (2193 m above sea level) in a small hollow. It serves as a water reservoir for the meadows of Visperterminen.
After enjoying the view and recovering from the strenuous ascent, turn right and follow the high path along the forest boundary via Sänntum, Bord, Sitestafel, and Sädolti to Gspon. Along the way, you pass the Sädolwald nature forest reserve and have a beautiful view over the Visp valley and the peaks of Weisshorn and Balfrin. Your destination is the mountain station in Gspon, from where you can start the return journey.

Sturdy footwear, sun protection, provisions, and water
Coming from Brig, take the A9 towards Lausanne / Sion / Lötschberg and continue on Route 9 (signs to Lausanne / Sion). At the roundabout, take the third exit (Terbinerstrasse) and follow the road. Keep left in Unterstalden and again keep left in Oberstalden. Follow the road (which becomes Bitzinen and Dorfstrasse) to Visperterminen.
Take the bus to Visperterminen Post and from there the cable car to Giw.

Practical: At the counter of Giw AG, the round-trip ticket is available for the chairlift ride (Visperterminen-Giw), the aerial cableway ride (Gspon-Stalden), and the PostBus ride (Stalden-Visperterminen).
