The ViaStockalper can be completed as a three-day route or in stages. You walk on historic paths: The pack trail of Kaspar Stockalper was built over 300 years ago and was subsequently actively used by traders. On the ViaStockalper, you repeatedly encounter Swiss history, museums, historic buildings as well as fortresses, and hike through wonderful natural, cultural, and mountain landscapes. There is much to see along the way. For example, during the first stage, it is worth visiting Stockalper Castle during an exciting guided tour. At the Simplon Pass, the mighty golden eagle withstands all weather, and two lakes provide refreshment. The Ecomuseum in the Old Inn in Simplon Village, which tells about life in the mountain village, is also absolutely worth seeing. The hike can also be booked as a hiking package: Hike for three days on the trail of the brilliant Kaspar Stockalper across the Simplon Pass – and all without luggage!
