This route allows you to climb the Grand Colombier by its most beautiful face and also to discover the small roads and villages of the southern Valromey valley.

Recommended equipment: enough water bottles for the ascent and a windbreaker for the summit and the descent.
The Grand Colombier is known for being lightly trafficked by motorists; cyclists are advised to keep to the right on the descents.
Several free parking areas are accessible in Champagne-en-Valromey.
Recommended parking: the school parking lot.

In summer, it is not recommended to do the ascent of the Grand Colombier via Culoz after 10 a.m.; this face, composed of cliffs very exposed to the south, is known to be really very hot on days of intense heat.
Water supply available at the foot of the ascent opposite the Maison du vélo in Culoz.
Drinks and light refreshments available at the summit of the pass at La Pause du Grand Colombier.
