Hardly any of the smaller towns in Württemberg has been celebrated by significant poets as often as Bad Urach. This special feature was the reason to create the "Bad Uracher Poetry Path."
The approximately four-kilometer-long path starts and ends both at the Explorer World near the Bad Urach train station and at the Wasserfall hiking parking lot. It passes by a total of 20 poetry stations. Poetry and landscape form an irresistible symbiosis. Poets such as Eduard Mörike, Gustav Schwab, Justinus Kerner, and Johannes R. Becher, to name just a few, have succumbed to this charm.
"Urach - a Poem" is the title of the 2014 edition published by the city of Bad Urach in a second improved and expanded edition containing 22 poems. All of them have the city of Urach or an aspect of Urach's history as their theme.
The poetry collection is the basis for the poetry path. The booklet is available at the bookstore at the Bad Urach market, at the Bad Urach cultural office, and at the Bad Urach spa administration.

Our routes are hiking paths rather than strolls. Sturdy footwear, hiking poles, and surefootedness are recommended for all routes. Especially after and during rainfalls, the calcareous rock and the ground can be very slippery, particularly on slopes. We ask you to exercise due caution.
In case of emergency, always dial 112. Please mention if the injured persons are located in inaccessible terrain so that the Bad Urach mountain rescue team is informed, avoiding unnecessary delays in rescue.
At the posts of the directional signs, you will find a plaque with the exact location number. This is known to the control center. Quick help can thus be ensured in an emergency.
