Klingenberg: Keiler hiking route

From the Eisweiher hiking car park, you cross the district road Röllfeld – Röllbach. The path ascends through a light pine forest in a north-eastern direction. At a large forest trail junction, it turns sharply left towards Maintal, with no major elevation changes from this point on. A short detour to the Röllfeld hiking lodge is signposted here and easily doable. The route then continues along a natural forest path to the hiking lodge at the observation tower, which is open on Wednesdays and weekends. A short climb up the tower is worthwhile; it was donated in 1903 by wealthy citizens of the town of Klingenberg. Here you also have the opportunity to follow the sweet chestnut educational trail with some information boards. Through beautiful mixed forest, past a shelter that provides cover in bad weather, you reach the Laresgrund. After crossing the district road, you arrive at the Hotel – Restaurant Paradeismühle. A short ascent leads the path back to the hiking car park.
