Circular route (3) Pinkadurchbruch - Hiking in the wine idyll

This demanding hiking route leads from the magnificent Eisenberg through the untouched wilderness of the Pinkadurchbruch between Eisenberg and the Schandorfer Forest - to Hungary and back. The path along the river forms a special contrast to the sun-drenched vineyards of Eisenberg. We start at the regional vinotheque in Eisenberg; after a steep ascent, the shady hiking trail continues alongside the Pinka and the steep slopes of the valley edge to Felsőcsatár in Hungary. In summer and after heavy rain, the floodplain forest can take on the character of a damp rainforest, and the narrow path is sometimes difficult to recognize. So be sure to bring sturdy footwear and long pants, as there are many nettles along the path. After the end of the Pinkadurchbruch, the route returns to the vineyards through the open vineyard landscape. Passing the border museum on the Hungarian side, the route leads back to Eisenberg in Austria.
