From hut to hut on the Saualm - permanent IVV hiking trail

Weißbergerhütte - junction to the hiking trail:

Start at the Weißbergerhütte and follow the marked hiking trail no. 308 heading north.

The path takes you through dense forests and occasionally offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Forest section - open terrain:

After about 1.5 km, you leave the dense forest and enter open terrain.

The trail leads you over alpine meadows covered with blooming flowers in summer.

Ascent and high plateau:

The path continues uphill to a high plateau. Follow the markings carefully as the trail can be narrow and rocky in places.

On the plateau, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape.

High plateau - descent to the Steinerhütte:

After crossing the high plateau, the descent to the Steinerhütte begins.

Continue following trail no. 308, which leads you through changing vegetation, from alpine meadows to loose forest sections.

Arrival at the Steinerhütte:

After about 2-2.5 hours of hiking, you will reach the Steinerhütte.

The hut lies idyllically in a clearing and offers a cozy place to rest.
