Leaving the historic center of Avigliana along via Porta Ferrata, piazzetta Santa Maria and via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, cross Corso Laghi and at the traffic lights take via don Balbiano. At the crossroads, continue straight on the Strada Antica di Francia, marked as a cycle path, which heads east between fields and woods and then onto via della Torre. At the next crossroads, turn right onto the Strada delle Gallie: at the stop sign, turn left, go past the railway underpass and, following the signs for the cycle path on the right, you will find the Strada Antica di Francia which leads straight towards the Precettoria di Sant'Antonio di Ranverso. Keeping to the right, follow the street of the same name and at the stop sign continue straight until the open space in front of the tracks of the Rosta train station, near the bar-restaurant. After the underpass, turn left and then right at the next roundabout until you reach the historic center of Rosta and follow the signs for Rivoli on Strada Provinciale 186. The path runs along an area rich in cultivated fields, woods and residential areas on the slopes of the moraine on which the oldest part of Rivoli stands: its Roman origins are evidenced by significant finds along the Via ad Galliam towards Rosta, while the medieval town arose on the slopes of the hill dominated by the 11th century Castle, today an imposing Baroque building designed in the 18th century by Filippo Juvarra but left unfinished. Today it is home to the Museum of Contemporary Art with a prestigious permanent collection, events and exhibitions of international appeal. From the Castle, continue west along the characteristic Via Piol that crosses the old town; Once you reach Piazza Martiri della Libertà, head north-west along Via Piave and Via Mongioie; leaving the town of Rivoli and going under the motorway, you reach the hamlet of Bruere, characterised by the presence of thriving agricultural businesses; from Bruere, after crossing the ring road, you quickly reach the Certosa Reale di Collegno.
