eBike MNCA stage 1: Auron - Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage

Auron (1600 m), the beginning of the adventure! From the resort center, follow the road markings leading to the ascent trail. 6 km of climbing at an average 6.7% gradient with magnificent views of the 3000 m peaks of the Western Mercantour allow reaching marker 155 (2001 m). Then descend towards the Demandols valley, first on trails among the ski lifts, then, watch out (careful), it gets a bit rough on the old mule track. You reach the Ardon stream (1616 m), just a few meters from the Demandols cow barns (100 m - historic site). To the right, a small road leads through 7 km of gentle descent to the village of Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée (1230 m). An ideal place for a refreshing break! Ready to go again? From the previous point, head left towards Ublan and the Anelle pass (1731 m) by a small road, then a trail. It climbs steeply for more than 4 km in this former sunny agricultural hillside; the last two kilometers are appreciated in the gentle atmosphere of larch forests and alpine pastures. Aqui es ben per una sosta! (here it is good for a break) From the Anelle pass, all that remains is to gently descend on a beautiful trail. In 3.5 km, you arrive at the magnificent village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage (1434 m).
