High-altitude hike: Grafenberg - Gabel - Kurzeggalm - Kleinarl/Summer 2026: Grafenberg Cable Car closed due to construction of a new lift.

From the Grafenberg mountain station, you first descend to the Hachaualm and then follow hiking trail no. 713 to the junction at Sonntagskogel. You then turn left onto hiking trail no. 712 and follow it to the Auhofalm (not operated). From the Auhofalm, trail no. 712 leads steeply up to the summit of Gabel. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are necessary here. From the summit of Gabel, you descend a few elevation meters back to trail no. 712 (the crossing below the summit is secured with a steel cable) and follow it to the turnoff to Kurzeggalm (trail no. 81).

From Kurzeggalm, you follow hiking trail no. 81 further over meadows and through light forest downhill until you meet trail no. 712 again, which leads via the Hirschleiten service road and the Ployergasse directly to the center of Kleinarl, where the hiking bus stop is located.

Only 350m from the Hirschleiten parking lot, at the end of the forest road, you will find the farm shop of Bio aus dem Tal. Here you can buy various cheeses, milk, and sausage products for your snack during the hike or for at home. Please have the exact amount of money ready.
