Stage 1: Broglio-Capanna Tomeo

From Broglio (reachable by bus) up to the river, cross the bridge and take the trail that officially starts the route. The path becomes steeper here and from a clearing you can enjoy a beautiful view of Broglio.

Continuing to climb, you pass two streams and an alp, of which today only ruins remain. The trail remains steep until a river flowing into a basin with many small horizontal waterfalls, from where you can enjoy a splendid view over the valley and surrounding mountains.

Then, the trail gets steep again and shortly before the hut you have to cross a wet rock slab along a narrow passage. This section is, however, equipped with a safety chain to which you can hold. Beyond the meadow, you can already see in the distance the hut, renovated and expanded in 2014, offering every kind of comfort.
