Bad Berka District Route - 2nd Stage

The second stage of the Bad Berka district route starts above the airfield in Bad Berka. You continue through the Tiefborn Valley into the Erfurt Valley. Up to Gutendorf, a beautiful ascent awaits you from the start, with the first part located in the forest. About one kilometer before Gutendorf, you leave the forest and find a magnificent rural landscape with beautiful views. 

In Gutendorf, you can learn more about the history of the village from information boards. Behind Gutendorf, the path leads over the Rüttelsberg to Meckfeld.  

The district route finally leaves Meckfeld towards Stiefelburg. Before continuing to Stiefelburg, the path turns left. It goes back towards Bad Berka and back into the forest. Through the forest, you follow parts of the Midwives’ Path before passing the Kesselberg (highest point of the route) and descending to Tiefengruben.
