Whether breathless beginner or well-trained mountain athlete: in the Tannheimer Tal, everyone has their money's worth who wants to move in fresh air and explore the surrounding mountains on foot. Every day, from hobby athletes to professionals, the choice is hard: The largest network of trails in Tyrol offers 26 marked routes covering a total of 186 kilometers. Beginner loops are included as well as challenging mountain runs. And so all guests know which trail suits their fitness and demands, a specially designed map and small boards inform about elevation profile, difficulty, and route length – the Running and Nordic Walking map.
Along meadows, over green alpine pastures, past sparkling mountain lakes... walking and running in the Tannheimer Tal is not only the best training for the body but also balm for the soul. The starting points for all those hungry for activity are in the six towns of Tannheim, Grän-Haldensee, Nesselwängle-Haller, Zöblen, Schattwald, and Jungholz.
Head east to the district Innergschwend, turn left at the fork and climb the ascent. Then keep left again and head west to the district Berg. Return to the starting point Parkplatz Berg on the descending road.
Your personal equipment must be safe and functional and comply with the respective technical standards. Everyone is advised to inform themselves about the planned routes in specialist literature or on site. Complete equipment is highly recommended even for experienced individuals!
It should be noted that running and walking sports may carry an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful route planning, there is always a basic risk. Route preparation through endurance training, appropriate technical training and further education, as well as personal caution, reduces the risk of accidents and risks.
On the A7 motorway at the "Oy-Mittelberg" exit, take the B310 towards Wertach and Oberjoch. There follow the signs "Tannheimer Tal" B199 until Tannheim. From the Tyrol side, via Reutte on the B198 towards Lechtal to Weißenbach, over the Gaichtpass along the B199 to Tannheim.
By train to Sonthofen, Pfronten/Ried or Reutte, then by bus to Tannheim
